All Turkish dialects covered

Of the roughly 80 million Turkish speakers in the world, the majority speak the main, almost-standardised form of the language sometimes referred to as Istanbul Turkish or Turkey Turkish.

However, there are numerous dialects. The Cypriot Turkish (Kıbrıs Türkçesi) spoken by Turkish Cypriots is prominent amongst them. Others include Karamnli Turkish (used by some Turkish-speaking peoples in Greece), Rumelian Turkish, Syrian Turkmen, Iraqi Turkmen, and Meskhetian.

No matter which part of the Turkish-speaking world you are targeting though, Asian Absolute will ensure you get your message across. We do the same if you are a Turkish-speaking business targeting an English-speaking community in the UK, the US, or elsewhere.

Select expertise ideal for your project

To accomplish the sheer range of Turkish translation projects we take on for our clients, we need experts in many different fields.

On any given day, we might find ourselves working on a re-branding project, localising technical schematics, or translating entire books. That’s why we keep specialists in a wide range of fields on-hand:

  • Patent translations
  • Typesetting services
  • App and software translation
  • Marketing translation
  • Technical translation
  • Video and audio localisation
  • Subtitle engineering

Numerous clients also call on us to provide notarised, Apostilled, and certified translations of official documents. This is something that we’re more than happy and qualified to do.

You can count on us for any mode of interpreting service – consecutive, simultaneous, whispered – which will meet your particular needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Turkish language Arabic?

Turkish and Arabic are different languages and, barring some very few shared loanwords and religious terms, are completely distinct from one another. They have completely different sounds, vocabulary, and grammatical structures.

Turkish is part of the Altaic and Turkic language group, closely related to languages like Turkmen, Uzbek, and Kazakh.
Arabic is part of the Afro-Asiatic language group, more closely related to Hebrew and Ethiopian.

What is the alphabet of Turkey?

For about 1000 years up until 1928, Turkish was written using the Arabic alphabet. But from 1928 onward, the Latin alphabet has been used.
English speakers usually find this quite easy to understand after a little practice. There are 29 letters in the Turkish alphabet, with a small selection (Ç, Ş, Ğ, I, İ, Ö, Ü) having been modified to represent sounds made in the spoken form of the language and a few others (Q, W, X) removed.

Where is Turkish spoken?

Turkish is only an official language in Turkey, where it is spoken by around 74 million people as their native language.

Because of the geography of Turkey – specifically, the fact that the city of Istanbul is partly in Europe and partly in Asia – it can be said that Turkish is an official language in one country but on two continents.

You will also find Turkish speakers in Cyprus and in other places in the Middle East and Europe (including 1.5 million in Germany).
